UnCommon Gospel was saddened by the news we received this morning stating that the iconic gospel singer LaShun Pace passed away.

It was reported by the family that she passed away at the age of 60. Her sister Lydia Pace said LaShun was on dialysis for five years, as she awaited a kidney. She lost that battle to organ failure this morning.

The Grammy-nominated Atlanta native was part of the legendary group The Anointed Pace Singers, made up of nine sisters. They were known for they’re incredible talent and range. She was known for her hit songs; “I Know I’ve Been Changed” and “Act Like You Know.” In 2007, LaShun was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame

Pace had gained another audience of supporters when Tyler Perry used one of her song titles for his stage play, “I Know I’ve Been Changed.” Gen Z have also recently become aware of Pace, since a snippet of her hit single “Act Like You Know” surfaced and has become a resent TikTok trend. It was said that LaShun were so excited to see it and had plans to record.

The matriarch of the Pace family, Bettie Ann Pace has recently been laid to rest in 2020. Duranice Pace, LaShun’s sister had also passed last year. The family has suffered insurmountable loss over the past few years. We will continue to lift them in prayer. LaShun is survived by seven of her siblings and her daughter.
